Download & Install Tidio
Every way to access Tidio, and which one actually matters most
Tidio is primarily a web-based product, but it also offers desktop apps, mobile apps, and a Chrome extension. If you are evaluating it for the first time, the web app is the place to start. The other access methods are useful, but they are secondary to the browser experience.
Web App (best starting point)
The web app at app.tidio.com is the full version of Tidio. No installation required.
What you get:
- Inbox, conversations, tickets, visitors, flows, analytics, and settings
- Lyro AI setup and training
- Flow builder
- Team and operator management
- Billing and account settings
Best for: Setup, configuration, reporting, and anything beyond simple day-to-day replies.
Account creation: You can start for free without a credit card. New accounts typically receive a short paid-feature trial before falling back to the Free plan unless upgraded.
Installing the website widget
Once your account exists, the next step is putting Tidio on your site.
Shopify
- Open the Tidio app listing in the Shopify App Store
- Click Add app
- Approve the installation
- The widget should appear on your storefront right away
This is one of Tidio's easiest setups, and it is one of the main reasons the product fits ecommerce so well.
WordPress
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New
- Search for Tidio
- Install and activate the official plugin
- Sign in with your Tidio account
WooCommerce
WooCommerce uses the same WordPress plugin flow, so there is no separate install process.
Wix
Install Tidio from the Wix App Market and connect your account.
Manual installation
If your platform does not have a native connector, add the script before the closing </body> tag:

Replace YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY with the key from your Tidio installation settings.
Desktop apps
Tidio also has native desktop apps for macOS and Windows.
What they are good for:
- Inbox work
- Conversation handling
- Ticket management
- Real-time notifications
What they are not ideal for:
- Full configuration
- Flow building
- Deep settings work
- Analytics review
My view is that the desktop apps are useful operational tools, not the primary admin environment.
Mobile apps
Tidio's iOS and Android apps are designed for responsiveness rather than heavy management.
Good on mobile:
- Handling live notifications
- Sending quick replies
- Light conversation management
Less good on mobile:
- Complex workflows
- Analytics
- Flow editing
- Broader configuration work
That matches the review pattern too: mobile is appreciated for staying reachable, but most serious users still rely on desktop or web.
Chrome extension
Tidio also offers a Chrome extension, Copilot, which surfaces reply suggestions based on past conversations and knowledge sources.
What it does:
- Suggests responses inside other tools
- Reuses prior support knowledge
- Helps agents work outside the main Tidio inbox
This is more of a convenience layer than a core reason to choose the product, but for some teams it can be genuinely handy.
